Robert Westmoreland came to live in Puerto Rico from Anchorage, Alaska. He is a professional photographer with decades of experience who had a publishing business in Anchorage before moving to Coamo, Puerto Rico in 2009. He is now retired and travels the island to share with the world all the beauty, culture and excitement that Puerto Rico has to offer.

The stone ruins shown in the photos for these checks and address labels were taken while the old buildings still stood at the side of Highway 153 near the Coamo - Santa Isabel exit from Expressway 52. Sadly, they no longer exist, having been decimated since then by Hurricane Maria and the nearby 6.2 earthquake that rocked the island and broke 1/3 of the electric grid (again) in January of 2020. Gone.
The place where they stood is now being developed as commercial real estate between the shopping center and gas stations just north of the expressway.
The lively lizards are everywhere in Puerto Rico. You can see them indoors and outdoors. Most people welcome the small lizards as they are nature's pest control agents.
